Our Mission

The Akron-AAUP serves as the exclusive bargaining agent for the collective bargaining unit faculty of the University of Akron; as such, we are charged with negotiating with the administration about wages, benefits and working conditions for the bargaining unit faculty. In addition, we seek to advance the welfare of the University and of its faculty and students; to promote high standards of teaching, scholarship, and public service; and to increase public awareness and understanding of and advance the standards, ideals, and welfare of the profession.
