It’s time for an Election and the Spring Chapter Meeting!
Nominations Sought for President & Vice President
The chapter is seeking nominations for the upcoming election of Akron-AAUP President and Akron-AAUP Vice-President. The term of office for these positions is two years.
Descriptions of these positions can be found here.
Only full-dues-paying chapter members may hold office or participate in chapter elections, and you may nominate yourself or someone else for either position. Nominations and self-nominations are due by 5 pm, Wednesday, April 12th, to [email protected]. Be sure to specify the position for which you are submitting a nominee and, as a courtesy, please make sure that your nominee is interested in the position prior to nominating them! All nominees are asked to provide a short statement supporting their candidacy by 5pm, Thursday, April 13th.
All active Akron-AAUP chapter members will receive an electronic ballot to vote for these important leadership positions shortly after nominations close.
The Nominations and Elections Committee are Pam Schulze (Chair, Chapter Past President), Jordan Renna (Secretary), and Ira Sasowsky (Treasurer).
Being a part of the Akron-AAUP leadership team is meaningful service to the Union and the University that makes a real difference to the working conditions of faculty across campus. If you are considering running for election, please note that according to the collective bargaining agreement, service to the Akron-AAUP is credited in the same manner as service to all other university committees.
We look forward to hearing from you!
